Many users of YouTube are noticing that the video player on the web looks a bit different. The video-sharing service is currently testing a new video player on the web that features a transparent control bar.

It may look familiar to some as the mobile version of YouTube features the same styling with its control bar.

The icons have been made slightly larger and now have bolder color to be noticeable on a transparent background. The Watch Later button has been relocated while the video settings menu looks slightly different with altered toggles for Autoplay and Annotations.

Here are the directions to enable to player, provided by Google Operating System:

If you want to enable the experimental player, you need to change the cookie value for VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE to Q06SngRDTGA. If you use Chrome, install EditThisCookie, open youtube.com, click the extension’s button and change the value for VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE. Make sure that you’re using the English (US) interface.
