An unnamed device from NVIDIA received certification in South Korea just yesterday. The device is believed to be the successor to the company’s SHIELD Portable that was released in 2013.
Specifications were not included with the certification but the next handheld gaming console from NVIDIA is almost guaranteed to have the upcoming Tegra X1 processor and integration with the GRID game streaming service. The company recently removed itself from the modem business; therefore, NVIDIA will be loading its own hardware with in-house processors to showcase potential.
Pricing will be important as the original SHIELD Portable was priced rather high at $299 and received little attention from gamers. What price point would you like to see an NVIDIA Portable successor hit? Let us know in the comments.
