Android News: Android Device Manager now lets you keep a watch on your phone

Find your phone with Android Wear

Google has today started pushing out an update to its Android Device Manager application. As far as functionality goes, in addition to the usual handful of bug fixes and stability improvements, this upgrade brings support for Android Wear.

According to Google, you don’t need to do anything to enable this new feature as its rolling out to all Android Wear devices “over the next few weeks.” All you have to do is wait for it to arrive on your unit; and then you’re good to go.

Once received, simply wake your smartwatch, say ‘Ok, Google. Find my phone,’ or select the ‘Find my phone’ option in the Start menu, and your handset should start ringing at full volume; making it somewhat easier for you to find.

If, by chance, your device cannot be found or retrieved, Android Device Manager also lets you securely erase all of the data on it, thereby ensuring your data doesn’t end up in the wrong hands.
