Lenovo CEO Yang Yuanqing took to Weibo today to make a plug for increasing options for Moto 360 buyers when the next version is released and may have inadvertently revealed some prototypes of the second generation of the wearable. Yang pulled down the post shortly after making it, but of course the Internet prevailed and the image was captured before Yang could make it disappear.
The image does reveal that Motorola may be working on some options to make Yang’s desire to provide more choice to buyers a reality. The devices shown appear to come in two different sizes for both the watch face and for the corresponding bands. Speaking of the watch bands, it appears Motorola may have decided to use some traditional watch band lug ends. This could open the device up to being able to accept normal watch bands. Even if that option does not exist, the image shows Motorola has several new options available for watch bands.
Those examining the image also note that the watch face appears to still have the small notch at the bottom of the screen. That space is an annoyance to some users, but Motorola has said it is necessary to keep the bezel size as thin as possible.
