It’s no secret that HTC has struggled to turn a profit against other Android OEMs and Apple. However, thanks to some help from some key mid-range devices, it looks like HTC has finally shown sales growth in a quarter for the first time since 2011.
Fourth quarter revenue for HTC grew to about NT$47.9 billion ($1.5 billion), marking the first gain for the company since the first quarter of 2011. After three full years of declining sales, HTC has to be thrilled that it looks like things are finally turning around. The company even posted a profit of NT$180 million when they were expected to lose about NT$30.4 million.
HTC still has a ton of work to do to keep this momentum going, but with a new HTC One device right around the corner, things finally don’t look so gloomy for the company.
